A different manufacturing process than that used to create moulded gratings is used to create FRP pultruded gratings, another type of fibreglass reinforced plastic grating. Continuous fibreglass strands are pulled through a resin bath and a series of heated moulds to form pultruded gratings into the desired shape. This method produces grating that has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is therefore perfect for applications where strength is important. FRP pultruded gratings are low-maintenance and resistant to corrosion, fire, and impact. They are frequently used in platforms, walkways, bridges, and other structures where a durable, light-weight material is needed.
